HUTTON, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />SUBJECT: <br />APPROVAL OF RESOLUTIONS SETTING A PUBLIC <br />HEARING FOR JULY 7,1998 FOR THE LANDSCAPE <br />MAINTENANCE DISTRICT ENGINEER'S REPORT AND <br />ANNUAL LEVYING OF ASSESSMENTS <br />DATE: <br />MAY 28, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Attached are two resolutions for City Council consideration setting a Public Hearing for <br />the City's Landscape Maintenance District. The Public Hearing is required each fiscal year <br />in order to confirm the District Engineer's report and levying of annual assessments. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Landscape Maintenance District was initially created to offset development impact <br />costs related to the maintenance of landscaping receiving direct benefit by the projects and <br />surrounding areas. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Areas within the District are maintained by assessments collected on the County Tax roles. <br />RECOMMENDATION;, <br />Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached two (2) Resolutions setting a Public <br />Hearing on July 7,1998 for consideration of the Landscape District Engineer's report and <br />annual levying of assessments. <br />Item # 23 <br />
