CLARKE, UTILITY DIRECTOR �, <br />AWARD OF WELL N0. 26 DRILLING CONTRACT TO LAYNE <br />CHRISTENSEN CO., IN THE AMOUNT OF $255,773 <br />MARCH 29, 1999 <br />BACKCROUIVD: <br />The FY98-99 Water Capital Improvemen# included funds for the drilling of Well No. 26. <br />The project i:� a production capability requirement o# the State of California, Department <br />of Health S�rvices due to the age and declining production of several City wells. <br />Therefore, the project is on a fast track in order to cornplete the new well by July 20, <br />1999. However, #he bidding process is in accordance with State and City requirements. <br />DISCUSSIOM: <br />On March 29, 1999 staff received and opened three bids for the drilling of Well No. 26. <br />The results au-e as follows <br />1. Layne Christensen Co. <br />2. Beylik Drilling, Inc. <br />3.
