CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For City Council Meeting of August 17, 1999 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor & City Council <br />APPROVAL: Henry Garcia, City Manage#'� <br />FROM: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director%a� <br />Alan Denfeld, Recreation Services Manager <br />SUBJECT: Request For Recruitment and Ratification Of Employee Appointment To The Full-Thne <br />Position Of Maintenance Worker I in the Neighborhood Services Division of the Human <br />Resource Department for Fiscal Year 99/00. <br />DATE: August 4, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: There is currently one vacant Maintenance Worker I position responsible for building <br />maintenance for the Neighborhood Services Division. The vacancy was created by the transfer of an employee to <br />the Water Department. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: There is currently an eligibility list and staff requests authorization to fill the existing <br />vacancy from this list. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as specified in the <br />job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this position, in the fiscal year 1999-00 budget is as follows: <br />Account No. 100-6200-6202-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6200-6202-1100 (salary related benefits). <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position is required in order to effectively provide the continued level of <br />building maintenance as required by the citizens of Colton. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: August 30, 1999 <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends authorization for recruitment and ratification of the employee <br />appointment to the full-time position of Maintenance Worker I as recommended by the Human Resource <br />Director. <br />PREPARED BY: Alan Denfeld, Recreation Services Manager <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Agenda Rpt MMWI Bldg Maint Division 8-3-99 Item #16 <br />
