CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT For City Council Meeting of August 17, 1999 TO: Honorable Mayor & City Council APPROVAL: Henry Garcia, City Manage#'� FROM: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director%a� Alan Denfeld, Recreation Services Manager SUBJECT: Request For Recruitment and Ratification Of Employee Appointment To The Full-Thne Position Of Maintenance Worker I in the Neighborhood Services Division of the Human Resource Department for Fiscal Year 99/00. DATE: August 4, 1999 BACKGROUND: There is currently one vacant Maintenance Worker I position responsible for building maintenance for the Neighborhood Services Division. The vacancy was created by the transfer of an employee to the Water Department. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: There is currently an eligibility list and staff requests authorization to fill the existing vacancy from this list. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this position, in the fiscal year 1999-00 budget is as follows: Account No. 100-6200-6202-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6200-6202-1100 (salary related benefits). CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position is required in order to effectively provide the continued level of building maintenance as required by the citizens of Colton. EXPECTED FILL DATE: August 30, 1999 RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends authorization for recruitment and ratification of the employee appointment to the full-time position of Maintenance Worker I as recommended by the Human Resource Director.
