CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For the Council Meeting of May 18,1999 <br />To: Honorable Mayor & City C .1 <br />I V � <br />Approval: Henry Garcia, City Manage <br />From: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director& - <br />Alan Denfeld, Recreation Services Manager <br />Subject: Use of Fleming Park & Band shell for City of Colton's <br />Birthday Celebration on July 10, 1999 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m, <br />and for the following Street Fairs and Concerts in the Park: <br />July 1, July 6, August 3, September 7, and December 11, 1999. <br />(Tuesday events, 5:30 to 9 p.m.; Saturday events 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) <br />Date: May 6,1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />These are City -sponsored events (Colton Birthday Celebration, Street Fairs, Concerts in <br />the Park) which are for the benefit and enjoyment of the community. Entertainers will <br />perform at the Band shell, and vendors will be present at all the events. The July lofl, <br />event will include a dance, a car show, a Native American Pow -wow, and a Western <br />mock -gunfight. The December 1 Vh event will include a car show. <br />FINANCLAL IMPACT: <br />Since these are City -sponsored events, there will be no impact on staff hours. <br />CUST—AMRSE VICE PArT- <br />Fleming Park has been the site of choice for these events for many years in the past, and <br />Colton's tradition of family and community oriented events, continues into the present. <br />As a beautiful and traditional setting, Fleming Park has been and will continue to be, <br />associated with fond memories for many years to come by residents of all ages.
