CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For the Council Meeting of October 19, 1999 <br />To: Honorable Mayor & City C cil <br />Approval: Henry Garcia, City Manage <br />From: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director�q <br />Adrian Reynosa, Acting Recreation Services Manager kp <br />Subject: Use of Fleming Park & Band shell by <br />American Legion Post #155 and Veterans of Foreign War <br />Post # 6476 on Thursday, November 11, 1999 <br />from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. <br />Date: October 12, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This annual event is co-sponsored between the City, American Legion Post #155 and Veterans of <br />Foreign War Post #6476. The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War are requesting a <br />parade prior to the ceremony at Fleming Park, honoring all the Men and Women who served our <br />country in the Armed Forces. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />This is a scheduled work day for all city staff and there will be no financial impact on staff hours. <br />They are requesting street closure from "O" St. to "D" St. for the parade, which will begin at <br />10:00 a.m. Upon conclusion of the parade, the ceremony at Fleming Park will begin at 11:00 <br />a.m. There will be no financial impact to the general fund, and any staff time expended will be <br />covered from the existing 1999/2000 budget. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: <br />Fleming Park is an ideal setting for this special event, it is located in the center of town making it <br />accessible for the citizens of our community to honor all the men and women who risked there <br />lives, serving our beautiful country. Expected attendance is 200 adults, 75 children. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the request by the City of Colton to co-sponsor, the American <br />Legion Post #155 and Veterans of Foreign War Post # 6476 for the use of Fleming Park & Band <br />shell on Thursday, November 11, 1999.
