Parrish, Assistant City Manager 1P <br />SUBJECT: Allocation of $85,218 Discussed at the Mid -Year Budget Review to <br />Capital Projects in Councilmanic Districts One through Six <br />DATE: May 9, 2000 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On February 29, 2000 staff presented the City's midyear budget review to the City <br />Council. At that time the City of Colton had revenues that were in excess of <br />expenditures. Based on that excess, staff presented a list of recommended <br />appropriation increases (projects, equipment upgrades, etc.) to balance the budget. <br />Upon discussing the list with the City Council, revisions were made, one being a <br />request to allocate the remaining amount of $85,218 to capital projects in councilmanic <br />districts one through six. <br />On March 1, 2000 the City Manager distributed a memorandum requesting a list from <br />each Council Member prioritizing capital projects in the six districts where the additional <br />funding could be applied. Each of the Council Members responded with a list of <br />projects. In some cases events developed after the lists were submitted that may have <br />altered the priorities in some of the councilmanic districts. <br />DISCUSSIONIANALYSIS: <br />The following are specific requests that were received from each of the Council <br />Members: <br />District 1: Sidewalks at the following locations: Meridian and Visconti, Grand and <br />Laurel, Randall. <br />District 2: Provide funding for a mid -block crosswalk and flashing light on North <br />Rancho, south of Mill. <br />District 3: Pave alleyway behind All Star Auto, City Monument on Fairview Drive, <br />Landscape Improvements, (plant material) on Colton Avenue. <br />District 4: Curb and gutter on West "C" Street between 4'h and Rancho, improve Drain <br />at Congress and Veteran's Park <br />District 5: Sidewalks where missing on the following streets, Reche Canyon, and <br />Hunts. Curbs, Gutters and Sidewalks where missing on the following streets, <br />Washington, Steel, Walin, Center, Reche Canyon Drive and Barton. <br />Item #6 <br />
