Clarke, Utility Directo <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RECRUITMENT AND TIFICATION OF SENIOR CONSUMER <br />SERVICE FIELD REPRESENTATIVE IN THE ELECTRIC DIVISION OF THE UTILITY <br />DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: Wednesday, May 03, 2000 <br />BACKGROUND <br />There is one (1) vacant Senior Consumer Service Field Representative position available due to a <br />promotion in the Utility Department. Attached is the job description of the classification; the salary <br />range is $2632-$3199 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list established upon Council approval. <br />The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as specified in the job <br />description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />Funding availability for this approved Enterprise Fund position in the two -FY 1999/2000-2000/2001 <br />budget is funded as follows: Account No. 520-8000-8003-1010-0580 (Salary) and Account No. 520- <br />8000-8003-1100-0000 (Salary -related Benefits). <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: 05/29/2000. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT <br />The position provides for the prompt, daily connection and disconnection of electric and water services <br />for new and existing customers. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT — None. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of employee <br />appointment to the full-time position of Senior Consumer Service Field Representative as <br />recommended by the Utility Director. <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Report Prepared by Timothy C.
