CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For the Council Meeting of November 20, 2001
TO: Honorable Mayor & City Council
FROM: Ronald C. Kenny, Director of Parks, Recreation & Family Services
SUBJECT: Request Recruitment and Ratification of Employee Appointment tc
the Full-time Position of Maintenance Worker I in the Building
Maintenance Division of the Parks, Recreation & Family Services
Department
DATE:
November 8, 2001
BACKGROUND:
There is a need to fill one, (1), existing Maintenance Worker I position in the Building
Maintenance Division of the Parks, Recreation and Family Services Department. The
salary range is $1992 - $2442 per month.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
This full-time position became vacant when the former employee was promoted to
Maintenance Worker III. We will be underfilling this position from a Maintenance Worker II
to a Maintenance Worker I in an attempt to conserve the Division budget. The existing
eligibility list will be used to hire the new employee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funding for this Internal Service Fund position for Fiscal Year 2001/2002 is available in
Accounts No. 605-6200-6211-1010 (salary) and 605-6200-6211-1100 (salary related
benefits).
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of a
employee appointment to the currently budgeted full-time position of Maintenance Worker I
in the Parks, Recreation and Family Services Department.
Attorney:
Manager:
Finance]
OTHER:
Item #5
