Item #14 CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 02, 2001 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: Dilu de Alvis, Finance Director SUBJECT: Approval of resolution appointing specific representatives to the Independent Cities Risk Management Authority DATE: September 19, 2001 BACKGROUND: Currently the Independent Cities Risk Management Authority ("ICRMA') allows Member Cities to designate a representative and two (2) alternate Representatives to the Governing Board of the ICRMA. The Colton City Council has designated Mayor Betty Cook as Representative, Risk Manager Joanne Knowles, Substitute Representative, and Human Resource Director Dennis Morris, Substitute Alternate Representative. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: ICRMA regulations state that when the City ICRMA Governing Board Representatives change or are added, an amendment must be made to the existing City Resolution. Due to the absence of the City's Representative Betty Cook, and Substitute Alternate Representative Dennis Morris, the following changes need to be implemented. Appoint Councilmember Helen Ramos as Representative, retain Risk Manager Joanne Knowles as Substitute Representative, and appoint Finance Director, Dilu de Alwis as Substitute Alternate Representative for representation on the ICRMA Governing Board. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: None RECOMMENDATION: Respectfully request that the City Council adopt the attached resolution to authorize the appointments of a Representative, Substitute Representative, and a Substitute Alternate Representative to the ICRMA Governing Board.
