CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF September 18, 2001 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Ron Kenny, Director of Parks, Recreation & Family Services <br />SUBJECT: Use of Fleming Park for a Fundraiser by Colton High School Marching <br />Band Saturday, October 6, 2001, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. <br />DATE: September 10, 2001 <br />Item #15 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Colton High School Marching Band is requesting the use of the park and band shell for a <br />fundraiser. The group plans to raise funds by selling food items for new instruments and for future <br />competitions. They will be providing a free jazz concert followed by a free family movie. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The beautiful setting of Fleming Park will provide a great atmosphere for this function. Expected <br />attendance is estimated at (100) adults & (45) youth. Final approval of the park would include <br />verification of insurance by the permit holder. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Since the park is maintained by the Parks, Recreation and Family Services Department, there will <br />be a minimal impact on staff hours from General Fund Account No. 100-6200-6205-1050. <br />ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the approval of the Colton High School Marching Band's use of Fleming Park & <br />Band shell on Saturday, October 6, 2001. <br />Attachment: Facility Reservation Form <br />REVIEW TEA77L�j <br />City Attorney: <br />Finance Director: <br />City Manager: �- % �/ OTHER: <br />
