Item #13 REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF COLTON For the City Council Meeting of April 16, 2002 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: Candace Cassel, Redevelopment Manage SUBJECT: Request for Recruitment and Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Full Time Position of Project Manager in the Redevelopment Agency. DATE: April 8, 2002 Background/Discussion November 1, 2001 was the Redevelopment Director's last day of employment with the Agency. Rather than fill the Director position, the Agency reorganized the department and created a Redevelopment Manager position. One of the Agency's two Project Managers was appointed to that position, leaving a vacancy. On March 18, 2002, the Agency's other Project Manager tendered his resignation, with an effective date of April 25, 2002. At this time, the Agency is requesting that the City Council authorize the recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to the full time position of Project Manager in the Redevelopment Agency. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. The monthly salary range for the position is $4,604 - $5,598. Consistency with Redevelopment Implementation Plan Authorizing the recruitment will enable the Agency to implement the projects currently authorized by the Agency Board. Financial Impact All funds have been previously approved with the 2001/2002 budget as follows: Account No. 886-9000- 9000-1010 (salaries) and 886-9000-9000-100 (benefits). Recommendation Staff respectively requests that the City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the employee appointment to the full time position of Project Manager in the Redevelopment Agency.
