Barrera, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: CERTIFICATION OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION AND <br />SPECIAL ELECTION HELD NOVEMBER 5, 2002, IN THE CITY <br />OF COLTON <br />DATE: November 25, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the July 2, 2002 Council Meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. R-78-02, <br />Calling and Giving Notice of the General Municipal Election to held in the City of Colton, <br />for the Election of certain officers of the City. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The City Council by adoption of Resolution No. R-78-02 authorized the county election <br />department of the County of San Bernardino to canvass the returns of the General <br />Municipal Election. The canvas was completed on November 25, 2002. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Estimated cost is $2,800.00. The Registrar of Voters required a 25% deposit of the <br />estimated cost for the November 5, 2002 Election. This was paid in September of 2002 <br />in the amount of $700.00. The Invoice for the balance owing is expected after the first of <br />the year. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends adoption of the attached Resolution, reciting the facts and declaring <br />the results of the November 5, 2002, General Municipal Election. <br />Attachment: Resolution No. R-136-02 <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />City Attorney: ►•- Finance Director: <br />City Manager: OTHER: <br />
