Barrera, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Calling and Giving Notice of a General Municipal Election to be Held, Tuesday, <br />November 5, 2002 and Requesting the County of San Bernardino to Render <br />Specified Services <br />DATE: June 19, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Terms of Office for certain elected City Officials are nearing conclusion. <br />DISCUSSION /ANALYSIS: <br />Under applicable State law, the City of Colton must take steps to call for the election of certain officers of the <br />City and to order a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2002, which will be <br />consolidated with the Statewide General Election, to elect the following City Officers: <br />1. Mayor, at large, for full-term of four years; <br />2. Three Councilmembers, by District, for full -terms of four years, for Districts 1, 2 and 4. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Cost of the General Municipal Election is estimated at $10,000.
