Items #10 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF June 4, 2002 <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />Teresa Delgado, Human Resources Manager 1G <br />SUBJECT: First Amendment to City Manager Employment Agreement <br />DATE: June 4, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On June 5, 2001, the City Council and City Manager Daryl Parrish entered into an <br />employment agreement for management services to be provided by Mr. Parrish as City <br />Manager for the City of Colton. In conjunction with Mr. Parrish's one year performance <br />evaluation by the City Council, Mr. Parrish has requested the City Council to make certain <br />amendments to his employment agreement with the City. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The proposed revisions include the following provisions: <br />1) No immediate salary increase is requested, but upon implementation of any <br />Department Head salary increases as a result of the current compensation study, <br />Mr. Parrish's base annual salary shall increase and remain five percent (5%) higher <br />than the base annual salary of the highest paid department head salaried <br />employee. <br />2) Term of the agreement shall be extended one year, to expire on June 5, 2004. <br />3) Effective January 1, 2003 when the existing automobile lease matures, or sooner if <br />the lease is assumed by another department, Mr. Parrish shall receive an <br />automobile allowance of $500 per month, in lieu of using a City -leased vehicle. <br />4) In the event that Mr. Parrish's employment with the City is terminated without cause <br />pursuant to Section 6(C)(1) of the agreement, he and his dependents shall receive <br />continuing health insurance plan coverage for 12 months after termination or until <br />he obtains other employment, whichever is sooner. <br />RV PUB\NGS%33289 -1- <br />
