Item #12 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF March 5, 2002 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Al Holliman, Assistant City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Request Recruitment and Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Full <br />Time Position of Redevelopment Manager in the Redevelopment Agency. <br />DATE: February 25, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Certain full time positions have been proposed as part of the City-wide reorganization. There is a <br />need for one (1) Redevelopment Manager position in the Redevelopment Agency to replace the <br />vacant Redevelopment Director position which is being eliminated. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Redevelopment Agency wishes to fill a need in the department for management and <br />administration of the Redevelopment function consistent with the objective of the City to make <br />some reassignments. The valuation of the position was based on a limited job table survey of <br />surrounding cities and has been reviewed and approved by the City Manager. The elimination of <br />the Redevelopment Director position in favor of the Manager will generate salary and benefits <br />savings. Attached is a draft of the job description. The salary range for the proposed RDA <br />Manager is $6,018.01 — 7,273.33 per month. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: All funds have been previously approved with the 2001/2002 budget. <br />Financial impact to the Redevelopment Agency represents a savings of $ 16,748, which assumes <br />maximum at E step; savings could be higher depending on appointment at a lower step. Funds are <br />budgeted in account number 886-9000-9000-1010 for salary and account number 886-9000-9000- <br />1100 for salary related benefits. <br />ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />Agenda MA Manager 0]0502.4 <br />
