CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF September 3, 2002 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />129 <br />FROM: Ron Kenny, Director of Parks, Recreation & Family Services' <br />SUBJECT: Request for Five Additional Summer Concerts <br />DATE: August 27, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Item #22 <br />The Parks, Recreation & Family Services Department recently concluded its 2002 Summer <br />Concerts Series. Attendance at the concerts has steadily increased through the summer due to <br />quality entertainment, great weather and a beautiful location. Concert attendees have made <br />numerous requests for additional concerts this year. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Five concerts could be added to the schedule. The first would begin Sunday, September 8 and <br />continue each Sunday through October 6 at Fleming Park. Concert times each week would be 5:00 <br />p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Approval would be needed for the use of Fleming Park for the perspective dates. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The cost for the five additional concerts would not exceed $5,000 and would be charged to Account <br />#100-6020-6020-2306. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of five additional concerts be added to the 2002 Summer Concert <br />Series at a cost not to exceed $5,000.
