They are requesting the use of Fleming
Park, and its Bandshell, to host this event.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
This event has been held in Rancho Cucamonga previously, however the group wishes to move
the event to Colton for 2004. Fleming Park should provide an excellent venue to host such an
event. Expected attendance is estimated at approximately 140 people, including adults, teens
and children. A facility reservation application, as well as supplemental information regarding the
organization, has been submitted by the group, and copies have been attached.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The City will provide standard staff support to prepare the facility for the event.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
Families and Friends of Murder Victims
Chairperson: Rose Madsen
Contact: Rose Madsen, (909) 798-4803
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that City Council approve the reservation request from the Families and
Friends of Murder Victims, for a Candlelight Vigil, to be held at Fleming Park on Monday, April 19,
2004. Staff also recommends that this approval be contingent upon the group providing liability
insurance and a cleaning deposit to protect the City.
Attachments
