Item #26 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF June 17, 2003 <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Approval and Adoption of Proposed Resolution of the City Electing <br />to Become Subject to the Uniform Public Construction Cost <br />Accounting Act. <br />TE: June 17, 2003 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The proposed resolution is related to the proposed ordinance to be considered by the City <br />Council which will adopt new purchasing procedures for the City in accordance with the <br />Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (the "Act"), pursuant to California Public <br />Contract Code, Section 22000 et seq. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />In order to implement the provisions of the Act, the law requires a public agency to adopt a <br />resolution to elect to become subject to the Act and to notify the State Controller of the <br />City's actions. Adoption of the proposed resolution is a necessary step in establishing <br />efficient procedures for purchasing supplies, services and equipment underthe provisions <br />of the Act. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />This resolution is related to the adoption of Ordinance regarding new purchasing <br />procedures. This resolution, in and of itself, will not result in financial impacts. It is a <br />procedural step for the City to become subject to the Act. Any indirect financial impact of <br />this resolution will be a result of adoption of the proposed ordinance and its new <br />purchasing procedures. <br />RVP1B\1;GS\654189 _1 <br />
