Item #5 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />MEMORANDUM <br />Office of the Mayor and Council <br />Date: April 29, 2003 <br />To: Honorable Mayor and Council Members <br />From: Executive Assistant/Council Office Manager Adelfa Flores /tiV <br />Subject: Voting Delegates - League of CA Cities Special Membership Meeting <br />COUNCIL METING OF MAY 6, 2003 <br />On May 14-15, 2003, City Manager Parrish, Mayor Pro Tem Chastain and Council Member <br />Mitchell will travel to Sacramento and represent Colton at the Legislative Action Days event. <br />While in Sacramento, they will also meet with legislators (listed below) to discuss impending <br />budget matters. <br />• Senator Nell Soto <br />• Senator Bob Margett <br />• Assembly Member Robert Pacheco <br />• Assembly Member Dennis Mountjoy <br />• Assembly Member Gloria Negrete-McLeod <br />• Senator Roy Ashburn <br />• Senator Gloria Romero <br />• Assembly Member Carol Liu <br />• Assembly Member Sharon Runner <br />• Assembly Member Judy Chu <br />As a part of the Legislative Days activities, League of CA Cities President John Russo sent the <br />attached letter asking that we appoint a delegate to attend the May 151h Special Membership <br />Meeting. At this meeting, delegates will be asked to consider one or more proposals prepared by <br />the Board of Directors concerning the state budget and state -local fiscal reform. <br />Designated appointments must be submitted to the League of CA Cities by May 7, 2003. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Mayor Pro Tem Kelly Chastain as the delegate and Council <br />Member John Mitchell as the alternate delegate, representing Colton at the League's Special <br />Membership Meeting in Sacramento on May 15. <br />Attachments: Memo from League President <br />LOCAL Legislative Action Days Agenda <br />:adf <br />
