Item #8
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 1, 2004
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
APPROVAL: Anthony Arroyo, Administrative Analyst II
FROM: Blanca Arambula, Administrative Analyst I
SUBJECT: Approve and Adopt A Consolidated Salary Resolution
DATE: May 24, 2004
BACKGROUND:
Maintenance of the City's job table falls under the responsibility of the Human Resources Division.
The last consolidated salary resolution was approved by Council on July 17, 2001. In the interim,
the City has undergone extensive and continuous changes due to several factors including city-
wide reorganization occurring over the last two fiscal years. As a result, presenting a
comprehensive salary resolution incorporating the changes was continuously delayed. Given that
changes are still in process, it has been decided to present changes from July 1, 2001 through
June 1, 2004.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
Over the last few years, Council has approved compensation adjustments for all employee
Associations/Unions, implemented salary adjustments resulting from the Dembrowsky study and
undergone city-wide reorganization.
The attached salary resolution consolidates all of the salary changes into one (1) comprehensive
salary resolution, with all salary ranges that are currenUy in effect.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The financial impact of the consolidated salary resolution were discussed and approved by City
Council as the changes occurred; adequate funds for the original decisions were budgeted in the
salary and benefit accounts of each affected department.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
None.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
None.
7/10/03 City Clerk's Oflice Cb
