La Cadena Drive <br />Colton, CA 92324 <br />RECEIVED <br />D=EB 1 I ?004 <br />01'-FICE OF <br />i HE CITY CLERK <br />Item #6 <br />The Redlands Bicycle Classic is an internationally ranked, professional bicycle road race <br />staged annually in Southern California. This year under the accreditation of the <br />International Cycling Union (UCI - Union Cycliste Internationale), the Redlands Bicycle <br />Classic celebrates its 201h year as the largest and best bicycle stage race in the United <br />States. In addition to our annual event, the Redlands Bicycle Classic organization has <br />been awarded the 2004 U. S. National bicycle race, where the winners will go to the 2004 <br />Summer Olympic Games in Athens. <br />The 2004 race is scheduled to start in Riverside on Tuesday March 23 and finish in <br />downtown Redlands on Sunday, March 28. On Thursday, March 25, we will run the <br />Redlands to Oak Glen Road Race. This route has become an annual tradition and a major <br />stage on our overall event. The route through the City of Colton is the same as last year. <br />This letter serves as a request for authorization from the City of Colton. Enclosed are the <br />route maps and route description. Also enclosed is the certificate of insurance naming the <br />City of Colton as additional insured. <br />The completed authorization should be sent to Ron Mutter, Technical Director, Redlands <br />Bicycle Classic, P.
