La Cadena Drive Colton, CA 92324 RECEIVED D=EB 1 I ?004 01'-FICE OF i HE CITY CLERK Item #6 The Redlands Bicycle Classic is an internationally ranked, professional bicycle road race staged annually in Southern California. This year under the accreditation of the International Cycling Union (UCI - Union Cycliste Internationale), the Redlands Bicycle Classic celebrates its 201h year as the largest and best bicycle stage race in the United States. In addition to our annual event, the Redlands Bicycle Classic organization has been awarded the 2004 U. S. National bicycle race, where the winners will go to the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens. The 2004 race is scheduled to start in Riverside on Tuesday March 23 and finish in downtown Redlands on Sunday, March 28. On Thursday, March 25, we will run the Redlands to Oak Glen Road Race. This route has become an annual tradition and a major stage on our overall event. The route through the City of Colton is the same as last year. This letter serves as a request for authorization from the City of Colton. Enclosed are the route maps and route description. Also enclosed is the certificate of insurance naming the City of Colton as additional insured.
