CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 7, 2004 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Amer Jakher, P.E., City Engineer <br />Item #7 <br />SUBJECT: Approval for the Recruitment and Ratification of employee <br />appointment to the full-time position of Maintenance Worker I, in the <br />Public Services Department, Streets Division. <br />DATE: <br />August 30, 2004 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There is one (1) Maintenance Worker II position that is currently vacant in Streets Division of the <br />Public Services Department. To realize savings, staff is requesting to underfill this position with a <br />Maintenance Worker I. The salary range for Maintenance Worker I is $2,482 to $3,018 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list established upon council <br />approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as specified <br />in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />The General Fund will not be impacted by this recruitment as the Streets Division is budgeted to fill <br />this vacancy in the following accounts: 100-6150-6160-1010 (Salaries), 100-6150-6160-1100 <br />(Salary Related Benefits) and 100-6150-6160-1101 (Taxable Benefit). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />Not Applicable. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: <br />Not Applicable. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the recruitment and ratification for the full time <br />position of Maintenance Worker I, in the Public Services Department, Streets Division. <br />Prepared by: Maritza Tapia — Administrative Analyst <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />Ci Attorney: City y Finance Director: <br />City Manager: OTHER: a� ��-- <br />7/10/03 City Clerk's Office Cb <br />
