CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 1, 2005 <br />Item #9 <br />TO: <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />FROM: <br />Kenneth Rulon, Chief of Police <br />SUBJECT: <br />Resolution of the City of Colton of the City of Colton, California, <br />amending the Budget for Fiscal Year commencing July 1, 2004 and <br />ending June 30, 2005. <br />DATE: <br />January 4, 2005 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />At the City Council Meeting of October 19, 2004, the City Council authorized the police <br />department to accept a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) to fund technology <br />improvements and enforcement operations. The funds have been received and a Resolution must <br />be adopted authorizing an amendment to the fiscal year 2004/ 2005 Budget. <br />DISCUSSION/ ANALYSIS: <br />The Police Department applied for and received a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant from the <br />Department of Justice. The funds are currently in the City's possession. In order to allocate the <br />funds an amendment to the fiscal year 2004/ 2005 Budget is required allocating funds to the <br />police department's expenditure accounts while increasing the corresponding revenue accounts. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />No General Fund Impact. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />Not Applicable <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />Not Applicable <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST - Gift Disclosure Requirements: <br />Not Applicable <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached Resolution, and authorize the above <br />expenditures within the Grant guidelines. <br />Attachment(s): <br />Resolution <br />Prepared by: Frank Coe, Police Lieutenant <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY <br />City Attorney: <br />City Manager: <br />Finance Director: <br />OTHER: <br />
