The salary is currently $10,241 per month but <br />may be negotiable upon hire. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Assistant City Manager is a management level classification with responsibility for assisting <br />the City Manager with the overall management of City operations and services. The Assistant <br />City Manager is an integral part of the upper management for the City of Colton. The position <br />reports directly to the City Manager and may assume direct supervision over one or more <br />departments. <br />The Human Resources Department will be in charge of the nationwide recruitment; <br />advertisements will be placed in various professional magazines. A draft recruitment flyer has <br />already been completed by Human Resources staff. Below is the timeline for the recruitment <br />process: <br />August 1-15, 2005 <br />September 30 <br />October 1-15 <br />October 30 <br />November 15-30 <br />December 1-15 <br />December 15-30 <br />January 1-15, 2006 <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Recruitment begins <br />Recruitment ends <br />Review of qualifications <br />Letters to qualified applicants <br />Interviews with at least two panels <br />Finalists interview with City Manager <br />Selection made <br />Start date <br />The salary and benefits for the Assistant City Manager are included in the 2005/06 FY budget. <br />The approximate annual cost, including salary and benefits, is $170,000 (this cost reflects the <br />current salary and may increase based upon the negotiated salary). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST : <br />
