ITEM #18
CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 15, 2005
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: Amer Jakher, P.E., City Engineer
SUBJECT: AMEND CIP BUDGET FOR FY 2005-2006 TO INCLUDE THE SOUTH
COLTON MINI PARKS PROJECT, IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000.
DATE: November 7, 2005
BACKGROUND:
The "South Colton Mini Parks Project" was a project the City of Colton submitted for Community
Development Block Grant funding for the 2003-2004 cycle period. The project was submitted
with the intent of refurbishing and improving the safety of the two mini parks located on N Street
which are divided by railroad tracks. The funding requested totaled $20,000.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
The Parks Division is currently onsite at the 'N' Street underpass as the construction phase of
the `N' Street Beautification Project is ongoing. Staff suggests amending the Capital
Improvement Program (CIP) for fiscal year 2005-2006 to include "South Colton Mini Parks"
Project. This would allow the Parks Division to collaboratively complete both projects. The
South Colton Mini Parks Project scope of work includes installation of guard rail and plant
material.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The funding for this project is Community Development Block Grant funds and will have no
financial impact on the general fund. The funding for this project will be available in expenditure
account 215-0612-6920-3890.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Not Applicable.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST:
None.
7/10/03 City Clerk's Office Cb
