CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF October 18, 2005 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members ITEM #7 FROM: Bill Smith, Community Services Director' SUBJECT: Approval of License Agreement with Family Service Association of Western Riverside County for the Provision of Senior Citizen Nutrition Services at Hutton and Luque Community Centers and Authorization of the City Manager to Sign Documents to Execute Said Agreement DATE: September 26, 2005 BACKGROUND: The County of San Bernardino, Department of Aging and Adult Services, currently contracts with the Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County to provide daily senior nutrition services at Hutton and Luque Community Centers. This program provides meals to senior citizens at the centers, between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This current contract between the County of San Bernardino and the Community Action Partnership expires on September 30, 2005, and the County does not intend to renew the contract. Instead, the County has secured a new contractor, the Family Service Association of Western Riverside County, to take over the contract for provision of nutrition services at Hutton and Luque Centers. The attached license agreement (Exhibit A) quantifies expectations and requirements of the new contractor for the use of Hutton and Luque Centers. Said agreement will replace the current agreement with the Community Action Partnership. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: The County of San Bernardino will continue to oversee the contract for the provision of senior citizen nutrition services, and has assured City staff that the level of service provided by the new contractor will be consistent with that provided by the current contractor. Staff has met with administrative representatives of the County of San Bernardino, as well as the Family Service Association of Western Riverside County. Staff is confident that the new contractor is qualified and able to provide a level of service consistent with current program expectations.
