WHEREAS, the City of Cotton remembers and honors those who perished in the terrorist attacks <br />of September 11, 2IX)I; and <br />WHEREAS, inspired by the heroic sacrifices of our firefighters, rescue arid law enforcement <br />personnel, military service members; and other citizens, our Nation found unity, strength and <br />healing in the national outpouring of compassion; and <br />WHEREAS, from the tragedy of September 11, emerged a stronger Nation, renewed by a spirit of <br />national pride and a true love of country and those whom we lost wilt forever hold a cherished <br />place in our hearts; and <br />WHEREAS; as we mark the anniversary of that tragic day, we remember their sacrifice and we <br />commit ourselves to honoring their memory by pursuing peace and justice in the world and <br />security at home, and <br />WHEREAS, on Sunday, September I1, 200,; at 8:46 a.ttt. the City of Cotton shall commemorate the <br />4`s Anniversary of this tragedy by lowering all united States flags ---on all buildings within the <br />jurisdiction of the City --tri haf f -stn f f and remain flown until the next morning; and <br />WHEREAS cm Monday, September 12'f,2005 at 11:00 am., the C"ity o+ Colton will observe a <br />moment of silence and prayer at both, the Luque Center and the Hutton Center. <br />NOW THEREFORE, I, Deirdre H. Bennett, Mayor of the City of Lofton, along with my fellow <br />Council Members, do herebv proclaim September 11, 2005, as Remembrance tray and call upon <br />all Colton residents to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and. activities. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF; I have hereunto set my hand and cause the seal of the City of Colton <br />to be affixed on this 6' day of September 2CV5 <br />RAMON M.
