CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF September 20, 2005 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />ITEM #7 <br />FROM: Jeannette Olko, Electric Utility General Manager <br />SUBJECT: Approve Recruitment and Ratification of Employee Appointment to the <br />Position of Meter Technician in the Electric Utility Department <br />DATE: September 13, 2005 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Electric Utility Department desires to create an eligibility list for the Meter Technician. This position <br />provides valuable support to the department and is needed to conduct business more efficiently and <br />effectively. The salary range for this position is $5,018 - $6,100 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The Meter Technician performs skilled electrical work in connection with installation, testing, <br />programming, and repair of electric and electronic meters, instruments and related equipment for <br />commercial, industrial, and residential services. The position is the journey level person responsible for <br />advanced meter maintenance procedures throughout the City of Colton.
