ADJOUNRED COUNCIL MEETING <br />209 <br />JUNE 8, 1982 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of <br />the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above date at 6:00 p. m., <br />in the Redlands Federal Savings & Loan Board Room, 615 North La Cadena Drive, <br />Colton, California, Mayor Huntoon presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia, and Mayor Huntoon. <br />Also present were Acting City Manager Elliott, City Attorney Edwards, City Clerk <br />-- Ramos, Acting Finance Director Andengaard, and Finance Assistant Young. <br />BUDGET <br />Acting City Manager Elliott reported he had an information report for the Council <br />on Overhead Charges and a complete report on Rolling Stock. <br />Mr. Elliott stated the following is the proposed schedule for Revenue Sharing Funds: <br />The Proposed Use Hearing with Staff and Public is scheduled for June 14, 1982, at <br />5:30 p. m. and the Budget Hearing with the City Council is scheduled for Tuesday, <br />June 22, 1982, at 6:00 p. m. <br />(v NON -DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES <br />Insurance <br />Q Discussion was held on the Broker of Record, how they are chosen, and what are the <br />Q duties. <br />Acting City Manager Elliott stated he would put a report together on this. <br />Community Promotion <br />Discussion was held on funding the Chamber of Commerce. <br />It was the consensus of the City Council that overall the Chamber of Commerce is <br />beneficial to the City in soliciting new businesses and in general promotion of <br />the City. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros questioned participation by the Chamber of Commerce in local <br />elections. <br />City Attorney Edwards stated that the City could request the Chamber to adopt a <br />resolution to go on record that they would not actively participate in a Municipal <br />Election. <br />The City Council requested that the Chamber of Commerce submit an itemized list <br />of their planned activities for the coming year. <br />Employee Picnic <br />Mr. Elliott explained that the Employee Picnic is an annual event that he initiated, <br />where the employees are invited free of charge to an evening of fun at Municipal <br />Park. Mr. Elliott said the department heads do the cooking and everyone partici- <br />pates in organized game activities. <br />Radio Equipment <br />Acting City Manager Elliott reported the base station for our radio communication <br />system is in dire need of replacement, the amount budgeted is $4,100.00 based on <br />an informal quote. <br />Discussions were held on alternative telephone systems, monitoring of xerox, re- <br />ducing paper volume, and looking at the lease on the Blue LTD Ford currently being <br />leased. <br />POLICE <br />Acting Chief of Police Connolly reviewed the Police Department Budget with Council <br />Members. <br />Council Members discussed the Canine Program and the increase in pound fees that is <br />anticipated to come about as a result of the County dropping out of the existing <br />pound program. <br />JUN Lic. <br />
