ADJOURNED REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 239 1988 In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. ROLL CALL: Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Garcia, Rehrer, and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Benest, City Attorney Edwards, City Clerk Ramos, Assistant City Manager Keane, and Fiscal Services Manager Young. City Manager Benest stated the Council at the last Budget Session requested that the Chamber of Commerce provide further information on its budget request. Chamber of Commerce - Mr. Dick Dawson, Chamber Manager, reviewed the Chamber letter concept of the the Chamber can more effective. dated June 23, 1988. Mr. Dawson stressed the team City and Chamber, saying that in some business instances be more effective and in other instances, the City is After brief Council discussion, moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to tentatively approve the Chamber of Commerce budget of $40,000. Unanimous vote. Council Members asked Mr. Dawson to provide them with a proposed budget and program outline in the future. Mr. Dawson agreed to do so. BUDGET SESSION: PUBLIC HEARING Revenue Sharing Mayor Gonzales announced the Public Hearing for Revenue Sharing, Expenditures for Fiscal Year, 1988-89. Assistant City Manager Keane reported the City estimates $670,703 in federal revenue sharing funds available for expenditure in Fiscal Year 1987-88. Ms. Keane stated the revenue sharing program was not continued in the current federal budget, and it is not anticipated that the City will receive additional funds in Fiscal Year 1988-89. Ms. Keane reported the City Manager's proposed revenue sharing budget was published in the Courier on June 9, 1988; the initial budget hearing has been scheduled for this evening in conjunction with Council's second hearing on the City's annual budget. Official adoption of a revenue sharing budget is tentatively scheduled for Council's June 29, 1988 meeting. 1
