COUNCIL MEETING <br />NAE,GN 16, 1.9$3 <br />A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was <br />held on the above given date at 7:35 p. m., in the Council Chambers <br />of the City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE <br />Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Fledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag. <br />INVOCATION: <br />Invocation was Offered by Chaplain Michael McNally. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Councilmembers present were Bennett, Sandoval, Rios, Cisneros, <br />Cook, Beltran and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Manager <br />Lewis, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Ramos. <br />AGENDA REVIEW: <br />City Manager Lewis requested that Item 21A. be added under City <br />Manaaaeer's Reports and Recommendations for status update on Rancho <br />Mediterrania. with consensus of Council, the subject is added to <br />the agenda. <br />Councilmember Sandoval questioned the bidding structure by asking <br />if the City ensured that the products, purchased by the City, were <br />made in the USA. Finance Director Acevedo answered that such <br />investigation cannot be made as it invites Constitution problems <br />regarding Fair Trade Agreements. City Manager Lewis offered to <br />provide a brief memorandum on bidding process. <br />Councilmember Bennett indicated that Item 3 on the agenda included <br />the condition to replace defective trees whereas, the agenda report <br />did not include the condition. Finance Director Acevedo explained <br />that an ancillary memorandum was ,attached to the original report <br />which described the warranty on trees sold by Ron Brav's Nursery. <br />There is a guarantee to sell a live, healthy, disease free tree. <br />They will replace a tree if it dies due to some fault of theirs. <br />The bid specification dial not include any warranty requirements <br />other than providing a healthy tree based upon the City's <br />inspection. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />1 <br />
