CITY -,Or­ <br />'AGENDA <br />'AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of J7ANUARY S 1 U3 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: JENNIFER THORNBERRY, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF SECOND AMENDED AGREEMENT FOR Date: <br />COOPERATION BETWEEN THE COLTON JOINT UNIFIED SCHOOL DECEMBER 29, 1987 <br />DISTRIREDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE CITY OF COLTON, AND THE THE <br />COLTON, SANTA, ANA RIVER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT CIT _y aF <br />Background <br />In 1983 the City, Agency and District entered into an agreement for <br />cooperation to alleviate any detriment caused to the District by the <br />Santa Ana River Project by paying a portion of future tax increment <br />to the District for the fundingof public <br />s. This <br />agreement was first amended in1985tospecify oa $600,000ecommitment <br />by the Agency to purchase portable classroom facilities for the <br />District and place them at such locations as designated by the District <br />within the City of Colton. <br />I <br />Discussion <br />The Colton Joint Unified School District has requested that the <br />existing First Amended Agreement for Cooperation with the Agency be <br />amended to permit the District purchase or lease of classrooms on <br />a reimbursable basis. The District has currently leased portable <br />classrooms and requests the Agency to pay the debt service on six <br />classrooms up to the agreed upon amount of $600,000.
