Hutton, Director of Public Works <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Selection for Consultant for Date: March 9, 1988 <br />the Sanitation Study <br />The Council approved the Utility Cornission recomnendation that staff and members <br />of the Utility':Coimiission interview 3 firms that submitted proposals for the <br />Sanitation Study. The 3 firms interviewed were: Donald Hilly and Associates, from <br />Hesperia, names and Moore, from Phoenix Arizonaand S.C.S. Sanitation Engineers, <br />from Long Beach (in conjuction with Price Waterhouse). <br />The 3 firms were rated by the interview panel in areas of experience, related <br />expertise, programming, conrnunity education and involvement and implementation. <br />The following is the total point scores by the 4 member panel for the 3 firms: <br />256 <br />Dames & Moore <br />S.C.S. Sanitation Engineers 284 <br />Donald Hilly and Associates 221 <br />Based upon the interview panel's recommendation and the Utility Conmission's.recom- <br />mendation, staff recommends that S.C.S Sanitation Engineers be selected as the City's <br />consultant for the Sanitation Study. <br />RMCN&EN CATION: <br />Staff recoamend.s that Council approve the firm of S.C.S.
