CITY OF CO <br />LTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of- 9/6/88 <br />I <br />T0: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Rich Holmer, Human Services Director: <br />SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO SELECT A CONSULTANTjAND Date: 8/30/88 <br />AWARD A CONTRACT TO <br />CONDUCT A LIBRARY <br />AUTOMATION STUDY <br />On March 15, 1988, the City Council authorized the solicitation <br />of bids to study alternate methods of library automation. A <br />Request for Proposal (RFP) was written and mailed to prospective <br />consultants on June 16. <br />By the July 31, 1988 deadline, proposals from three prospective <br />consultant firms were received. Each response to the RFP has <br />been reviewed and a recommendation was male by staff, with the <br />concurrence of the Colton Public Library Board of Trustees, <br />. <br />to award the contract to RMG Consultants Inc. RMGConsultants, <br />Inc., will conduct Phase I and II tasks, as outlined in the <br />RFP. <br />The reason for selecting RMG Consultants, Inc., are as follows: <br />1. Their bid offers are not only the best price but the <br />best presentation. <br />COMPARATIVE COST BREAKDOWN OF PRASE I AND II TASKS <br />RMG EPSTEIN WARNER <br />$8,450 $9,750 $24,000 <br />2. Their understanding of what the library RFP contains <br />is more thorough. They have a detailed list of the <br />various tasks to be performed with a timetable and <br />number of job hours for completio' of each task. <br />3.
