KERNE, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: <br />Bid., Award for various Transformers to Date: October 24, 1981 <br />General Electric Supply in the Amount of $3,001.92 <br />and Young & Company in the Amounto f' $ 6, S 41 2 6 <br />On October 5, 1989, we advertised for quotations for various transformers <br />for the Electric Department. Bid opening was held at 3:00 p.m., October <br />23, 1989, in the General Services office. Four bids were received and <br />evaluated. <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing prices and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor. The recommended vendor's price is underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total price of bid award is listed at the bottom for each <br />vendor. <br />Also attached, is a 'Transformer Load Loss Evaluation, which was done <br />on the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the trans- <br />former over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations <br />supplied by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted b <br />the vendor. The results of this evaluation determine the recommend- <br />ed vendor. The lowest evaluated cost for each transformer is under- <br />lined. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends bid award on Item l to Young & Company <br />in the amount: of $6,541.26 and Item 2 to General Electric Supply in the <br />amount of $3,001.92. <br />Report Prepared by: M.
