CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of August 7, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: John C. Hutton, Director of Public Works <br />SUBJECT: Acceptance of Funds for Measure I in the <br />Amount of $20,657.24 <br />Date: August 1, 1990 <br />As Council is aware, Measure I, the 1/2 cent sales tax initiative was approved <br />by the voters of San Bernardino County during the last election ballot. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: <br />Measure I was presented to the voters as a means to raise funds necessary for the <br />maintenance of local streets, arterial roadways and improvement to major highways. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />Utilize local general funds. <br />TTT.T AT. i/�T Ai T1R Af-"- <br />Additional revenue for street improvements. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The City now has a funding source to improve roadways. <br />The City has received its first allocation of Measure I funding in the amount of <br />$20,657.24.
