CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For Council Meeting of August 21, 1990
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: EDMUND SOTELO, CITY MANAGE
py_/1
SUBJECT:AMENDMENT TO THE PAY AND CLASSIFICATION
PLAN FOR COMMUNITY SERVICES COORDINATOR
Date: 8-14-90
Last year the City contracted with Personnel Associates for a job
description update. The position of Facility Coordinator was one of
the positions audited. The information gathered during the audits
was provided to City Staff. Personnel Associates recommended that
the Facility Coordinator be retitled Community Services Coordinator
with revision of the job description.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Rosemary Colunga, Facility Coordinator, and the San Bernardino Public
Employees Association have requested the above recommendation made by
Personnel Associates be implemented and a salary adjustment be made.
Staff reviewed the information provided by Personnel Associates'
audit and the duty statement provided by the employee. This
information indicates that the Facility Coordinator not only
coordinates the use of community facilities by citizen groups, but
also implements a variety of social, recreational and community
service programs. This class is distinguished from the Program
Specialist in that the Program Specialist develops and implements a
variety of City-wide recreation and community service programs and
activities.
ALTERNATIVES
Council may approve or not approve the reclassification.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The new classification is recommended at salary range 21.5 in the
General Unit. This range is approximately 6% above the range of the
previous position.
Attachments:
Page 1 of — ORIGINAL Item No.
FILE NO. i? 7_
-------------------------r
