CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />JANUARY 2, 1990 <br />FROM: RICH HOLMER, HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR j24 - <br />SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY TO ENTER INTO Date: DECEMBER 20, 1989 <br />A GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE <br />OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING <br />The State of California Office of Criminal Justice Planning has awarded the City of <br />Colton $18,571 to partially fund a delinquency prevention program during 1990. The <br />project, the Colton Early Intervention Program, offers an innovative and integrated <br />approach to reach children (8-12) at risk of entering the Juvenile Justice System, or <br />those with minor offense records and their families. The program elements include <br />crisis intervention, counseling, youth development groups, parent education and <br />support program, and private sector involvement. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is staff's recomn-endation that Council adopt the attached resolution approving the <br />grant award agreement with the State of California Office of Criminal Justice <br />Planning.
