Sotelo, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: City Council Approval to Apply for <br />State/Local Transportation Partnership <br />BACKGROUND <br />Date: July 10, 1990 <br />Eucalyptus Avenue between San Bernardino Avenue and Valley <br />Boulevard, at this present time does not have street improvements. <br />Through State/Local Transportation Partnership Program (S.B. 300) <br />the City of Colton can apply for matching funds for up to 508 of <br />the project cost to create this portion of infrastructure. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />At present all traffic generated by the new development in the <br />vicinity must utilize Pepper Avenue. To mitigate capacity <br />problems, this Missing Link Project would alleviate traffic impact <br />on existing infrastructure. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />A. Condition local property owners, through development require- <br />ments, to install infrastructure at affected properties <br />frontage - a long term piecemeal process. <br />B. Colton designs and constructs the project in conjunction with <br />the State/Local Transportation Partnership Program (S.B. 300). <br />C.
