Gonzales �? <br />SUBJECT: Propositions 108, 111 and 116 <br />Date: <br />I recently received a letter from West McDaniel, Executive Director <br />of SANBAG, requesting the Colton City Council's endorsement of Propositions <br />108, 111 and 116, which will be on the June 5, 1990 ballot. <br />Proposition 111: The Traffic Congestion Relief & Spending <br />& Limitation Act of 1990 - will revise the <br />Proposition 108: government limit to be more responsive to <br />California's population growth and vibrant <br />economy. If passed, Proposition 111 <br />will trigger an increase in the gasoline <br />tax which together with Proposition 108 <br />will provide additional monies to improve <br />local roads and public transit. <br />Proposition 116: The Rail Transportation Bond Act, is the <br />Clean Air Transportation Improvement Act <br />of 1990. The Act, if approved by <br />California voters, will provide almost <br />$1.99 billion statewide for projects <br />mostly based per capita need. <br />One resolution in support of Propositions 108 and 111, and another <br />one in support of Proposition 116 are submitted for your consideration. <br />Attachments: Resolutions <br />Page t of <br />� r ,� Item No-1-5iLE y'�-------------i ( * <br />
