CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of October 16, 1990 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: EDMUND F. SOTELO, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Various Transformers to Date: October 10, 1990 <br />Pauwels Transformers in the Amount of $5,098.38 <br />and WESCO Utility in the Amount of $3,439.49 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Utility transformers are ordered into Electric Stores inventory as <br />required. The quantity and sizes are projected by the City Electrical <br />Engineer as plans are submitted for new development and replacement <br />transformers are needed. <br />On September 13, 1990, General Services advertised for sealed bids for <br />some of these requirements. Bid opening was held at 2:30 p.m., <br />October 2, 1990, in the.General Services office. Five bids were <br />received and evaluated. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM <br />None <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />None <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />A Bid Analysis is attached showing price and delivery quoted by each <br />vendor, with the recommended vendor's price underlined for each trans- <br />former. The total of bid award is listed at the bottom for each vendor. <br />Also attached is a Transformer Load Loss Evaluation, which was done on <br />the computer. This evaluation shows the true cost of the transformer <br />over it's lifetime, using a combination of load calculations supplied <br />by the transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the vendor. <br />The result of this evaluation determines the recommended vendor.
