SOTELO, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Waiver of Bid Requirement for a Portable Date: October 10, 1990 <br />Dance Floor for Luque Center and Purchase of <br />this Reauirement from Robbins Inc. in the Amount of $7,948.61 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Human Services has a requirement for a portable dance floor for the <br />Luque Community Center. <br />On September 13, 1990, General Services advertised for sealed bids for <br />this requirement. Bid opening was held at 2:30 p.m., September 24, 1990, <br />in the General Services office. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBMEM <br />No bids were received. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Staff was able to obtain one informal quotation for this requirement <br />from Robbins Inc. in the amount of $7,948.61. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />Council approved funds for equipment and furniture for the Community <br />Centers at the Council meeting of July 17, 1990. Funds are available. <br />RECOMMENDATION, <br />Staff recommends waiver of the sealed bid process and purchase of the <br />portable dance floor from Robbins Inc. in the amount of $7,948.61. <br />Report Prepared by: Mary J.
