METER TECHNICIAN <br />APPRENTICE, METER OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR AND UTILITY WORKER,- <br />AND <br />ORKER;AND REVISED METER TECHNICIAN AND METER TECHNICIAN APPRENTICE <br />JOB DESCRIPTIONS <br />Background <br />Article 1 C of the Electrical Unit MOU states that: <br />"...a classification and total compensation survey shall be <br />conducted by the City for the classification of Meter <br />Technician, Meter Technician Apprentice and Utility Worker, <br />using the same methodology used by the City in its survey to <br />establish base salaries for 1990." "...the City shall increase <br />the base salary in an amount equal to the percentage difference, <br />if any, between the average total compensation in the surveyed <br />cities and that in the City of Colton, for the classification at <br />issue." <br />Staff has concluded that survey,and its recommended adjustments are <br />in the attached resolution. The Meter Operations Supervisor is <br />recommended for an adjustment as well due to compaction created by <br />the Meter Technician increase. <br />A few minor changes are proposed in the job descriptions for Meter <br />Technician Apprentice and Meter Technician.
