Drews, Electric Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: Energy Award <br />Date: October 15, 1991 <br />In April, 1990, an Energy Efficiency Study was provided to the City <br />of Colton through the Energy Partnership Program of the California <br />Energy Commission. The study analyzed costs and benefits of <br />various energy conservation measures for the Civic Center, Hutton <br />Center, and Library. The energy conservation measures included <br />installation of programmable setback thermostats, electronic <br />ballasts and low wattage lamps, lighting motion detectors for <br />certain areas, and compact fluorescent lamps. As a result of the <br />Energy Efficiency Study, energy conservation measures were budgeted <br />in the 1990-1991 fiscal year budget and installed during 1991 at <br />the Civic Center, Hutton Center, Library and Electric Department <br />office building. <br />The California Energy Commission will present an "Outstanding <br />Energy Achievement In Local Government Award" to the City of Colton <br />in recognition of energy conservation efforts undertaken during <br />1991.
