ACEVEDO, Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for One New Four Door Sedan to Date: March 31, 1992 <br />Mills Ford in the Amount of $11,924.31. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Electric Department has a requirement in this year's budget <br />for one new four door sedan. On February 27, 1992, General <br />Services advertised for sealed bids for this requirement. Bid <br />opening was held at 2:30 p.m., March 24, 1992, in the Corporate <br />Yard Conference Room. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Five bids were received and evaluated. The low bid was received <br />from Fairview Ford, however it did not meet the City's <br />specification. The City's specification was for a vehicle that <br />is available in stock and not required to be special ordered. <br />The specification also aksed for a split front seat. Fairview <br />Ford did not meet any of these specifications. The next low bid <br />was from Fuller Ford, but they did not meet the "in stock" <br />specification. Mills Ford is the third low bid. They are offering <br />an in stock vehicle which will meet the City's requirements. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that bid award be made to Mills Ford in the amount <br />of $11,924.31. <br />Report prepared by Mary J.
