CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of March 17, 1992 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: John C. Hutton, Director of Public 2014 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Change Order #2 for Emergency Well <br />Repair to Well #14 in the Amount of $12,438.73 <br />lOIBY <br />Date : March 10, 1992 <br />On November 5, 1991 Council approved emergency repairs to Well #14 in the amount <br />of $24,926.00 and on January 7, 1992 approved change order #1 in the amount of <br />$2,350.00 for video logging and removal of an obstruction. <br />n T SCl 1SS T ON : <br />Tri County Equipment and Repair has since completed the work approved by Council. <br />However, during test pumping of the Well, it was determined that the bowls are <br />in need of replacement. If the Well is placed back into service without replacing <br />the bowls it will be down within 6 months and the bowls will need to be replaced <br />then. <br />The hot weather season will begin within 2 months and this Well will need to be <br />in operation in order to meet the water demand for the summer. The Well has test <br />pumped at 600 GPM which represents an increase from 100 GPM before Well repairs. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Repairs to water infrastructure were included in the Water Utility budget in <br />account #21-6001-41 approved by Council on March 3, 1992. <br />RECO"v/ENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve change order #2 in the amount of $12,438.73 <br />for Well #14. <br />/lj <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE: <br />Attachments: 2 <br />Page 1 of <br />Item No. <br />l� <br />CENTRAL REXORDS <br />F1 LE NO. 1aQo:.s..----•------ q <br />
