ACEVEDO, Finance Directo cfi4 <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid for Various Transformers to Date: May 11, 1992 <br />Pauwels Transformers in the Amount of <br />$37,600.43. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Utility transformers are ordered into Electric Stores inventory on <br />an as required basis. The quantity and sizes are projected by the <br />City's Electrical Engineer as plans are submitted for new development <br />and replacement transformers are needed. On April 2, 1992, General <br />Services advertised for sealed bids for some of these requirements. <br />Bid opening was held at 2:30 P.M., April 21, 1992, in the General <br />Services office. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Three bids were received and evaluated. A Bid Analysis is attached <br />showing price and delivery quoted by each vendor. The recommended <br />vendor's price in underlined for each transformer. The total of bid <br />award is listed at the bottom for each vendor. Also attached, is a <br />Transformer Load Loss Evaluation, which was prepared on the computer. <br />This evaluation shows true cost of the transformer over its useful <br />lifetime, using a combination of load calculations supplied by the <br />transformer manufacturer and unit prices quoted by the vendor.
