CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of November 17, 1992 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Gale A. Drews, Electric Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF 3 -FOOT WIDE ELECTRIC UTILITY EASEMENT <br />BACKGROUND: <br />DATE: 11/3/92 <br />The City has a 7 -foot easement on the north side of Santo Antonio Drive east of <br />Mount Vernon Avenue. The vacant land in the area is owned by Metropolitan <br />Development Inc. The existing electrical system on the north side of Santo <br />Antonio Drive provides the electrical feed to the Centre Pointe Apartments and <br />the back-up feed to the Wal-Mart Shopping Center. <br />STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: <br />The Department does not have switches to transfer the load or isolate the area. <br />The installation of a switch in this area requires an additional 3 -foot wide <br />easement adjoining the existing 7 -foot utility easement. <br />Mr. Rick Coop, Vice -President of Metropolitan Development, Inc., has agreed to <br />provide this additional 3 -foot easement. <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends Council appr the attached easement to <br />Department staff to 'nstall tch n Santo Antonio Drive. <br />Concurrence: <br />Mark Lewis, City Manager <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />enable Electric <br />Item No. <br />6 <br />
