Zam <br />Community De lopme tDir for <br />CITY MANAGER CONCURRENCE: <br />SUBJECT: Soils/Geological Studies for Reche Canyon and <br />La Loma Hills Areas <br />DISCUSSION: <br />On November 15, 1994, Council directed staff to provide a status update <br />regarding the soils/geological analyses of the Reche Canyon and La Loma Hills <br />areas. As Council may recall, estimates for a comprehensive review and an <br />opinion in the Hidden Canyon area ranged between $8,000-10,000, for Wild <br />Canyon Drive between $6,000-8,000, and at an undetermined site in the La <br />Loma Hills area, the range would be between $4,000-8,000. <br />Staff has prepared a Request for Proposals for engineering consulting services <br />to provide geotechnical soils analyses. The deadline for submittal of the <br />proposals is December 22, 1994. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />Staff's estimation at this time, for a complete soils/geological analyses of the <br />Reche Canyon/La Loma Hills areas, is approximately $20,000. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />After the proposals are received and evaluated, staff will provide Council with a <br />recommendation. <br />
