Honorable Mayor & Councilmembers <br />FROM: Councilwoman Betty Cook <br />SUBJECT: Request for Veterans Park Improvements Date <br />I am requesting that the Mayor and Council direct City Manager Jerry <br />Young to address the cost of materials and labor to restore the <br />basketball courts, the restrooms and snack bar at the baseball <br />diamond at Veterans: Park, and the possibility of city crews par- <br />ticipating plus a plan for fencing and needed improvements of the <br />baseball diamond. <br />Veterans Park is a beautiful park and one of the best manicured parks <br />in the city, but has suffered from vandalism and neglect. <br />We have basketball courts, quality teams and competitions with a <br />basketball court of pebbles.
